Wisconsin State Tournament

This is more of a Hockey in Wisconsin thing, but since a few Badger recruits are in the mix, it should get a mention here. Regionals start next week Tuesday around Wisconsin. The entire state regional/sectional bracket can be found here.

In Section #6, Madison Edgewood is the #1 seed. Wisconsin recruit Cody Strang is the leading scorer on the team w/ 30-27-57.

In Section #5, Appleton Untied is the #1 seed. They are led by another UW recruit Matt Paape w/ 14-29-43.

Also in Section #5 is Wes Wauters who plays for Ashwaubenon, the #4 seed. Wes is a potential recruit who has been receiving interest from the Badgers according to Dplaya over at HIW. On the season he is performing well, 23-9-32.

The State Tourney moves to the Coliseum on March 5th thru 7th. Hopefully a few recruits/prospective recruits will make it. I'm sure there will be kids playing who might spring up on the recruit radar in the future. That is the same weekend Wisconsin hosts North Dakota to finish the WCHA regular season and hopefully hoists the MacNaughton Cup. It will be a busy weekend of hockey in the city, come early on thursday and watch some high school players compete as a warm up.
