All sorts of things to catch-up with today!
- Bobby Donohue of the Badger Herald takes a look at Badger Women's position in the WCHA.
- I should've posted this earlier, but you might still find PB's Border Battle post interesting, as it talks about the rivalry and coaching abilities of Bob Johnson and Herb Brooks.
- Shane Connelly and All-American and Hobey Baker Award Candidate Jamie McBain both received WCHA honors this week, with Connelly being named WCHA Defensive POTW and McBain being named WCHA Co-Offensive POTW. If you remember, I also posted yesterday morning that McBain was named INCH national POTW as well.
- Several days ago, Gandalf said to me, "Jamie McBain is the new Tom Gilbert". Apparently Mike Eaves agrees. Awesome.
- And since we're talking about Jamie McBain, let me point out this post over on Cute Sports.
- Josh Engel has been signed to a try-out contract with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. (Thanks to DPlaya for the heads-up!)
- Blockski has recently had a nice series of PWR posts here, and now Paul Capobianco weighs in on his blog as well. Todd Milewski also has a post on the Badgers' fight to move up in the PWR.
- In a blog post yesterday, Andy Baggot indicates that defensman Brendan Smith is nearing a return to the lineup, although a return for the Denver series is not guaranteed. In the same post, Baggot also briefly discusses the recent play of defensemen Craig Johnson, Ryan Little, and Eric Springer.
- Andy Baggot takes a look at the race for the MacNaughton.
- Rene Bourque continues to have a fantastic season with the Calgary Flames. He scored his 18th goal of the season on Monday v. Montreal. He's 3rd on the team in goals and 5th in points, and he leads the team with a +15. He now has 109 career NHL points, having reached the 100-pt mark on January 4 @ Chicago. (Sorry I missed that last month! Thanks to bucky15 for the heads-up!)
