Regionalization of NCAA tourney on hold

Back in October we posted about the NCAA's plan to make Regionals more regional affairs. Here's what INCH and CHN reported at the time, and here's how the WCHA responded at the time.

Per CHN today, regionalization has been put on hold for a year. The NCAA's Championship/Sports Management Cabinet is voting this week on whether to mandate regionalization of brackets for most NCAA sports, but any changes will not go into effect until next season. Men's D-I Ice Hockey Chair Steve Cady is "optimistic that the more drastic regionalization proposals will not be passed, and instead hockey will be allowed its compromise proposal".
