Around the WCHA Jan 2 & 3

Still no conference action again this week, but there are some non-conference games and a few holiday tourneys left to be played before the stretch run. First, last week's results:

Badger Hockey Showdown: Wisconsin takes the title
Great Lake Invitational: Michigan Tech beats North Dakota taking 3rd place, handing the Sioux 4th
Florida College Classic: St. Cloud takes 4th (nice work Huskies...)

Mankato went east and lost to both Yale and Princeton earlier in the week

Overall not a good weekend for the WCHA in non-conference. This could bode poorly for the WCHA in the NCAA tourney as the Pairwise Rankings start to take shape. Hopefully teams fair better this weekend.

Dodge Holiday Classic (Brown, minnesota, W. Michigan & Northeastern) - minnesota should take 1st
Denver Cup (Boston U, Rensselear, Holy Cross & Denver) - Denver takes their own tourney
Shillelagh Tournament (Mass-Lowell, Duluth, Union, Notre Dame) - Duluth takes 2nd

Wisconsin hosts N. Michigan - Badgers sweep
North Dakota home & home w/ Bemidji State - Sioux split w/ Beavers
Mankato hosts Nebraska Omaha (saturday only) - the Land Cows continue to suck in a loss
