Here are Monday's lines, as well as the lines seen during the 1st practice Saturday morning:
Monday | Last Saturday AM |
Turnbull-Street-Stepan | Turnbull-Street-Stepan |
Davies-Geoffrion-Bendickson | P. Johnson-Geoffrion-Davies |
Murray-Thurber-P. Johnson | Mitchell-Dolan-Murray |
Bohmbach-Dolan-Mitchell | Thurber-Bendickson-Grotting |
Bardis-Hickey-Grotting-Gorowsky | Bohmbach-Gorowsky-Hickey-Bardis |
| |
McDonagh-McBain | McDonagh-McBain |
Springer-Goloubef | Gardiner-Goloubef |
Little-Smith | Little-Smith |
C. Johnson-Gardiner | C. Johnson-Springer |
So, looks like Eaves is fairly happy with the top line, at least for now. Bendickson moved up from a lower-line center to 2nd-line wing. Bohmbach jumped up from the 5th line to the 4th, and Grotting dropped down to the 5th line.
The defensive pairings strike me as interesting in that each pair seems to have a player who likely is not going to sit on the bench much. But Eaves doesn't appear to feel the need to split up McDonagh/McBain to pair them with younger players, and I think that's a good thing.
Wednesday's scrimmage begins at 5:30 pm and is part of the Badgers' Hockey Night at the Rink. Like Saturday afternoon's practice, the scrimmage will be officiated, so I imagine we'll get a look at the PP and PK units.
Looking at the Badgers' schedule, you can see that the 1st half of the schedule is pretty difficult, and The Badger Herald takes a look at the Badgers' tough schedule.
