Today in Badger Hockey History: Women's Ice Hockey Begins!

From uwbadgers.com:

10/8/1999

Badger women’s ice hockey opens its inaugural season against Minnesota-Duluth in front of 3,892 fans at the Kohl Center in Madison.

It was the second-largest crowd to view a collegiate women’s ice hockey contest.

Kendra Antony notches the first goal in Badger women’s ice hockey history on the power play at 2:25 of the first period against Minnesota-Duluth.

(Yeah, I know that makes this season the 10th season, which is really the 9th annivesrary, not the 10th anniversary, but uwbadgers.com keeps calling it the 10th anniversary, and I don't feel like going back to change previous tags.)
