USHL Badger Recruit Playoff Review

Well, I really enjoyed following the USHL this season. Only made one game in Green Bay, but I'm going to try to see all of our USHL recruits in person next season at the Resch Center. DCB you better be ready to drink beer before hand and prehaps afterwards.

6 different Badger recruits made the post season and here is a breakdown of those stats.

Forwards:

Matt Thurber (Omaha): 14 games, 3-4-7, +3, 33 SOG, 12 PIM, 1 GWG
Craig Smith (Waterloo): 11 games, 2-3-5, +1, 31 SOG, 8 PIM, 1 GWG
Brock Montpetit (Waterloo): 11 games, 1-4-5, +1, 19 SOG, 14 PIM, 1 PPA
Travis Erstad (Lincoln): 8 games, 1-2-3, +2, 11 SOG, 8 PIM

Defensemen:

Patrick Wiercioch: 14 games, 2-9-11, +1, 38 SOG, 22 PIM, 1 PPG, 5 PPA
Eric Springer (Sioux Falls): 1-2-3, -3, 9 SOG, 2 PIM, 1 PPG, 1 PPA

Patrick Wiercioch ended up tied for 3rd in the USHL in playoff scoring, VERY impressive for a Dman and therefore I will award him w/ the Most Outstanding Badger Recruit of the 2008 USHL Playoffs. That certainly doesn't take away from the accomplishments of our other future Badgers, who all contributed to their team's post season runs.
