Craig Smith on a roll

W/ two games left in the USHL regular season for the Waterloo Black Hawks, their top player and Badger recruit Craig Smith has been playing well (understatement alert). He is currently enjoying an 8 game point streak, including a 4 assist night last night as Waterloo beat Chicago 5-3. The team is 6-2 in their last 8 games.

During this 8 game streak, Craig has amassed 5-11-16, a +12 rating, and he now sits in 2nd place overall in league scoring w/ 28-48-76, +32, only one point back from the leader. Overall, he is 1st in assists and pts/game, 2nd in +/-, T-5th in goals and even 23rd in PIM.

In 53 games this season, there have only been 11 games in which Craig did not register a point. Production in roughly 80% of your team's games is impressive.

Waterloo has locked up a playoff spot, and could finish as high as 2nd, but will likely finish 3rd or 4th. The Eastern Division is still pretty close. Last season Waterloo finished runnerup to the Omaha Lancers and I'm sure their top player will want a taste of the Clark Cup before donning the Cardinal and White of Wisconsin next Fall. Can't wait!
