You know everyone at Arbuckles in Stevens Point was tuned into the Sharks game last night to watch local hero Joe Pavelski try and stave off elimination by the Ducks.
Unfortunately, they didn't have a lot to cheer about. The one thing I'm sure did get they revved up was the fight that the 5'11 Polish Prince got into with 6'4 Ryan Whitney. Overall it was a pretty close scrap but I'd have to give the win to Pavelski since Whitney skated away with the bloody nose.
As you already know by know, it wasn't enough as the Sharks were defeated and eliminated by the Ducks (Puke).
The sweet news, for Arbuckles, is that they have a new D-1 hockey player to cheer for. Joe's little brother Scott, has committed to the University of New Hampshire. While he doesn't have quite the same pro potential as Joe, Scott has found a niche for himself in the USHL and it will definitely carry over to New Hampshire.
"What Scott did for this club in his two seasons didn't always show up in the stats," said Black Hawks Head Coach P.K. O'Handley. "He's a team guy and a leader, the kind of player you hope has an opportunity like this to play for a great program."
