Badgers Named to All-WCHA Academic team

There is a reason why in the term "student-athlete", the student part comes first. Today the WCHA released the name of the All-WCHA Academic Team. Six Badgers have qualified for the All-WCHA Academic Team. Those Badger student athletes were: ***Tom Gorowsky, Sr, F (Lino Lakes, MN); Jeff Henderson, Sr, G (Menomonie, WI); ***Ryan Jeffery, Sr, G (Madison, WI); Ryan McDonagh, So, D (Arden Hills, MN); ***Ben Street, Sr, F (Coquitlam, BC).

*-Number of seasons named to All-WCHA Academic Team

"To earn recognition as a member of the All-WCHA Academic Team, member team student-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1) have completed one year of residency at present institution, prior to the current academic year; and 2) have a grade point average of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) for the previous two semesters or three quarters, or may qualify if his overall GPA is at least 3.00 for all terms at his present institution."

It's nice to see guys like Henderson and Jeffery getting some publicity because they work just as hard as everyone else every day at practice. Hopefully next season we will see some more Badgers on the list.
