“WEHL 2010 CENTRAL CHALLENGE MIDGET TOURNAMENT”
The Wisconsin Elite Hockey League (WEHL) is pleased to announce this fall’s Central Challenge Midget Tournament, to be held October 29-31, 2010 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This year’s invitation-only tournament for the top 18U and 16U teams in the central states will be held under one roof at the beautiful 3-sheet Cornerstone Community Ice Center, home of the NCAA DIII Saint Norbert College Green Knights (2008 NCAA National Champions).
In addition to great competition, there will be tremendous exposure opportunity for players looking to move on to the next levels of hockey after high school. Coaches and scouts from all Central States Hockey League (Jr. A Tier 3) and Minnesota Junior Hockey League (Jr. A Tier 3) teams have been invited to attend, along with central states area USHL and NAHL personnel. We also anticipate attendance by representatives of some of the area NCAA D3 collegiate programs (MCHA, NCHA, and MIAC).
TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Twelve teams at each level. All teams will play four games (two 25-minute stop time halves), with those advancing to the Semi-Finals and Finals playing five and six games.
- Team trophies to first and second place teams.
- Presentations by University of Wisconsin Badgers and NAHL Janesville Jets about hockey opportunities after high school and the paths to attain them.
- Opportunity to see high level NCAA D3 hockey Friday 10/29 @ 7:00pm and Saturday 10/30 @ 4:00pm – St. Norbert College versus University of Wisconsin-Stout.
