Red/White Scrimage This Saturday 4:00 PM

MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin men's hockey officially opens practice for the 2010-11 season on Saturday, Oct. 2, and the team is welcoming fans to come watch.

Come see UW's 10 freshmen, and the returning Badgers from a team that reached the 2010 NCAA Championship Game, in their its first public appearance of the season. UW will play a free Red-White scrimmage beginning at 4 p.m., at the Kohl Center. The scrimmage precedes the Badger women's hockey team's contest against Rensselaer. The women's game against the Engineers begins at 7 p.m., and fans can stick around to catch free Badger women's hockey action.

Following the men's scrimmage, beginning at approximately 6:20 p.m., members of UW's men's team will be available for autographs in the Kohl Center concourse.

Admission is free for both the men's scrimmage and the women's game.

Note: The televisions in the Kohl Center concourse will show the Badger men's football game against Michigan State.
