Dplaya over at HIW is reporting that Tyler Barnes will not be coming in for the 2009/10 season, but instead will don the Cardinal and White starting in the Fall of 2010. He had signed a National Letter of Intent for the coming season. Dplaya mentions that Coach Eaves traveled to Burnsville, MN to discuss this in person w/ Tyler recently. The local Waterloo paper also mentions that he will be back for the Black Hawks' upcoming season.
This puts the Badgers forward total at 17 for next season.
The could be a big boost for Tyler in some ways. Instead of riding the pines almost every night in Madison (or maybe redshirting), he'll have a significant role w/ Waterloo next season. He put up decent points in his first USHL season, he could have a Craig Smith or Matt Thurber type season to prepare for his Badger debut. Losing at least 7 forwards following next season, Tyler could step right in to some playing time w/ out losing a year of eligibility to the bench.
