There have been rumors floating around lately about Stoughton High School goaltender Andrew Martin receiving an offer to walk on with Wisconsin.
I recently spoke with Martin who confirmed that he received an offer to walk on with the Badgers and he has decided to respectfully turn it down, at least for now.
Martin has signed a tender with the Springfield Jr. Blues of the North American Hockey League and plans to play there next season. That obviously could change in the coming weeks with the results of the United States Hockey League draft on May 15th.
Personally, I think it's a good move for Martin. He's a really good goaltender and has an opportunity to earn himself a Division 1 scholarship in the future. Who knows, maybe even at Wisconsin...we do have two Junior goaltenders this upcoming season...
